Program Description
These single field programs are designed to prepare teachers of adolescents, largely at the secondary school level (grades 6 through 12). They lead to 6-12 teacher certification in the teaching fields of mathematics, broad field science (with a biology emphasis), chemistry, and physics in Georgia.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate their ability to plan and implement curriculum, utilize a range of instructional strategies including the effective use of technology, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all adolescent learners.
- Demonstrate their understanding of appropriate assessment strategies and their ability to design and implement effective assessment tools to measure student progress.
- Demonstrate their ability to create a positive, student-centered, and academically challenging learning environment where all students feel welcomed and valued.
- Demonstrate professional dispositions and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria
Admissions Criteria
Admission to teacher education is separate from Admissions to Kennesaw State University. Students must meet the admission retention and graduation requirements outlined in the Teacher Education Admission, Enrollment, and Graduation Requirements catalog page to pursue this degree program.

This program does not have specific enrollment requirements.
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
