OP 6600L: CAD/CAM in Prosthetics and Orthotics Laboratory

1 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: OP 6000L 
This laboratory course provides theoretical and practical applications of digital tools for use in prosthetics and orthotics. It includes concepts around computer-aided design and manufacturing, methods of shape acquisition, model rectification, and manufacturing processes.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 

  1. Describe how CAD / CAM are used in the O&P industry and the associated workflow process.
  2. Draw and model basic 3D parts with a Computer-Aided Design software program.
  3. Explain how to move from a 3D model to CAM.
