Program Description

A minor in Data-Driven Decision Science is an excellent complement to other business degrees. Supplementing a business degree with a minor in Data-Driven Decision Science avails students to data science careers in industry, trade, banking, and government. Students will also be well prepared for graduate study in economics, law, and business.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in using key analytical tools, including statistical software and programming languages, to manage and analyze business datasets effectively.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in data cleaning, preparation, and management to ensure high-quality data is available for analysis, enabling effective decision-making and insights.
  3. Apply data-driven decision-making skills in real-world business scenarios, selecting and justifying decisions based on thorough data analysis and modeling techniques.
  4. Demonstrate understanding of ethical considerations in the use of business data and AI technologies, ensuring responsible data handling and awareness of societal implications.
  5. Create clear and effective data visualizations that accurately represent business data and are easily interpretable by stakeholders.

This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .

Graduation Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
