Program Description
The Music and Entertainment Business minor offers three capstone courses in music & entertainment business as well as marketing, management, production, communication, and entrepreneurship courses that prepare students for successful careers in the entertainment industry. The MEBUS major is for students with a desire to work in the entertainment industry in areas such as film and television production, audio and video technology, venue and artist management, and concert and event production.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the following concepts in the music and entertainment business: major and independent company operations, film studios, television and film productions, artist and talent management, marketing and promotion, revenue streams and the impact of technology.
- Demonstrate ability to work as a team to prepare public relations campaigns for music and entertainment business clients.
- Demonstrate proper interview skills along with preparing a career portfolio that includes: a professional resume, business card, budget, LinkedIn profile and elevator pitch.
