Program Description
The Leadership Studies Minor is a unique, interdisciplinary minor that offers learners a rigorous and robust exploration of the Leadership Studies discipline. In this minor, students will critically examine contemporary concepts, theories, and models of leadership and apply what they have learned in practical, real-world contexts. Learners will take LDRS 3000: Foundations of Leadership: History, Theory, and Application and complete two “Inclusive Leadership” electives and two “Applied Leadership” electives to complete the 15-credit minor. Courses for this minor can be taken in any sequence. This minor complements a wide array of major areas of study offered at Kennesaw State University.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate information literacy, critical thinking, critical self-reflection, and collaboration skills.
- Critically examine and apply historical and contemporary concepts, theories, and models of leadership.
- Effectively and appropriately engage across differences by critically examining how leadership is related to self, other, and contexts.
- Critically examine and apply key modes of inquiry used in the discipline of Leadership Studies.
- Discern between leaders and the practice of leadership.
- Articulate one’s own philosophy of leadership grounded in one or more leadership theories they learned throughout the program.

This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
