Program Description
The Coles College Scholars Program provides exceptional business students with unique and challenging opportunities through a coordinated multi-year program focused on leadership development, integrated and international studies, community engagement and mentorship. Participants must apply, and are screened and selected annually through a rigorous application and interview process.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Develop leadership skills through application of leadership theory and via experiential learning.
- Effectively work in a team, leverage their own strengths and strengths of others, and work through conflict.
- Gather, synthesize, and integrate data and information from multiple sources to solve multi-disciplinary problems and offer potential solutions.
- Interact with business and community leaders.
- Prepare and present results and recommendations for a managerial audience in written and oral formats.
- Leverage state-of-the-art technology for analysis, communication, and organization as required by various situations.
- Apply their experiences and education to global business environments and situations.

Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria
Admissions Criteria
The following are program-specific requirements beyond the general Admissions requirements.
Applicants must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher as well as their Coles College’s Core Field of Study GPA requirement.
- Be admitted into the Coles College Professional Program.
Enrollment Criteria
Students must:
- Be available for a 2-year commitment to complete the program.
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher throughout the program.
- Adhere to the requirements and expectations in the Coles College Leadership Scholars Handbook.
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
