Program Description

Students may earn a minor in Philosophy by completing fifteen (15) hours as described below. At least twelve hours counted toward the minor must not duplicate hours counted toward the major.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to: 

1. Demonstrate general knowledge of philosophical traditions, including knowledge of diversity in philosophical traditions, by identifying key information about specific texts, figures, and movements in philosophical traditions.
2. Recognize, identify, and evaluate various interpretations of philosophical traditions and methods of philosophy.
3. Use interpretations of philosophical texts to critically examine philosophical problems/questions.

Enrollment Criteria

This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .

Graduation Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
