Italian Studies Minor

Program Description
The Minor in Italian Studies requires 15 hours of ITAL coursework, at ITAL 2001 or above, and/or WLC 3200: Mediterranean Cultures ; at least 3 courses must be at the upper-division level. Advanced speakers of Italian should consult with an Italian Studies advisor about testing options using the Advanced Standing examinations available in the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
A minimum of six (6) hours in the minor must be taken in residence at Kennesaw State University.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Communicate in presentational, interpersonal, and interpretive modes in both oral and written discourse. (Language Proficiency)
- Discuss selected literary and cultural products, practices, and perspectives of the target cultures and the connections among them. (Cultural Understanding)
- Apply critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving abilities through task-based language activities (i.e., oral presentations, summaries, term papers, creative videos, curriculum vitae, reports, note taking, etc.). (Professional/Career Readiness Skills)

This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
