Program Description

This interdisciplinary minor program in the language, culture, and society of Greece and Rome includes courses in anthropology, art history, dance, English, history, Latin, music, philosophy, and theatre and performance studies.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Studens who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  1. Identify and describe the key texts and monuments produced within the classical world using appropriate terminology.
  2. Apply discipline specific methodologies to interpret classical texts and art monuments within their historically accurate contexts.
  3. Write and speak clearly, effectively and analytically through inquiry and research.
  4. Apply professional practice skills to the field of classical studies.

Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria

Admissions Criteria

Admission to this program is open to all students who meet Kennesaw State University’s general admission standards. Visit the Admissions  section of the Catalog for more details.

This program does not have specific enrollment requirements. 

Graduation Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .

Program Course Requirements

Required Courses (15 Credit Hours)


Students must complete fifteen (15) credit hours of coursework in Classical Studies. At least nine (9) hours must be at the upper-division (3000-4000) level.

Choose three courses from the following (9 Credit Hours)


No more than one course (3 credit hours) of Directed Study
