Program Description
The Minor in Chinese Studies requires 15 hours of CHIN coursework. CHIN 2001 and CHIN 2002 may be counted towards the minor; all remaining course work must be at the upper-division level. Advanced speakers of Chinese should consult with a Chinese Studies advisor about testing options using the Advanced Standing examinations available in the Department of Foreign Languages.
A minimum of six (6) hours in the minor must be taken in residence at Kennesaw State University.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Communicate in presentational, interpersonal, and interpretive modes in both oral and written discourse.
- Discuss selected literary and cultural products, practices, and perspectives of the target cultures and the connections among them.
- Apply critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving abilities through task-based language activities (i.e., oral presentations, summaries, term papers, creative videos, curriculum vitae, reports, note taking, etc.).

Enrollment Criteria
This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
