OP 7500: Clinical Practicum in Prosthetics and Orthotics III 2 Credit Hours Prerequisite: OP 6900 This is the third in a sequence of four clinical practicum courses which concentrates on general medicine and rehabilitation in various allied health specialties. In-class instructional activities and discussions focus on professional practice management topics. Clinical rotations are designed to expose students to real world prosthetic and orthotic clinical practice.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

Recite patient interaction skills.

Perform an evaluation on a patient for a lower extremity orthosis.

Formulate a prescription and recommend a treatment plan for patients who need lower extremity orthosis.

Determine the proper billing and procedure codes and medical documentation required for clinical practice.

Employ safe clinical practice (i.e., proper use of equipment and tools for clinical patient assessment, universal precautions, PPE, etc.)
