OP 6200: Clinical Gait Analysis 3 Credit Hours This lecture and laboratory course provides analysis of normal and pathological human locomotion. It includes the study of theory and instrumentation for measurement of temporal and spatial kinematics and kinetics, electromyography, and plantar pressure.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Describe the biomechanics, metabolic cost and neural control of healthy legged locomotion.
- Describe and analyze the underlying principles by which pathologies can affect human gait.
- Conduct an independent study of locomotion using scientific methods for studying human gait.
