STVW 6400: Script Analysis 3 Credit Hours This course teaches script analysis, where students evaluate feature film, television, and short film scripts based on concept, character, structure, plot, dialogue, and formatting. Students will write “coverage,” a tool used by production companies to assess screenplays. Expect to read and cover 1-3 scripts weekly. This skill is essential for aspiring freelance script readers, with potential recommendations for roles upon course completion.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Illustrate understanding of screen storytelling mechanics.
- Demonstrate the basic fundamentals of script analysis.
