NURS 7954: Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nursing for Adults and Older Adults 6 Credit Hours Prerequisite: NURS 7951 and NURS 7952 This course is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses to use evidence-based practice to provide mental health care to individuals throughout adulthood. Students focus on developing skills to assess, diagnose, and treat the psychiatric needs of adult and geriatric populations with an emphasis on the nurse practitioner’s role in promoting wellness and the prevention of development of psychiatric disorders.
