ENGR 8410: Mechanical Properties of Materials 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to the Interdisciplinary Engineering, PhD program This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical behavior of a broad range of engineering materials, with a specific focus on the modern materials used in infrastructures. Through a combination of theory and real-world case studies, students gain a fundamental understanding of materials and property relationships. The course integrates the concepts of basic mechanical behavior in solid materials and mechanical and thermal properties of a wide range of engineering materials, from both microscopic and macroscopic points of view.
