ECON 9014: Decision and Risk Analysis 3 Credit Hours This course explores the theory and application of quantitative decision models for decision and risk analysis. General topics include basics of probabilistic modeling, including probability and probability distributions (discrete and continuous) and their properties, random variables, and stochastic decision and risk analysis. Emphasis is on the understanding and evaluating the formulation, solution, and interpretation of models with application to a variety of business issues, and how quantitative techniques can provide for better decision making and risk assessment. A number of recent research articles will be reviewed to give the students a broad overview of applications. The goal of the course is to be able to understand and implement modeling tools for risk analysis and how they could be applied in their own research.
