DS 7900: Applied Analytics Project Course

3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: STAT 7210  or permission of the instructor
This is a highly applied project course using real data. Students will be broken into teams for the semester and will work together to design, execute, and present an analysis to address the sponsor’s business problem. There will be regular feedback sessions with the instructors and client as the semester progresses. The class closely mimics what students will experience when they work on projects in a job setting. Typically, the course will have an external project sponsor.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 

  1. Communicate analysis plans and results in a professional manner through written mediums.
  2. Communicate analysis plans and results in a professional manner through oral presentations.
  3. Effectively work in a team environment to successfully complete a data analytics project.
