DS 9900: PhD Dissertation Research 1-9 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Progression to candidacy and permission of the instructor. This course includes dissertation writing under the direction of the major professor (dissertation advisor). The course is taught using a non-traditional format of independent research and preparation of the doctoral dissertation.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate a range of skills appropriate for an independent researcher in data science or analytics.
- Present their research substantively in written form through a series of iterative drafts.
- Accept and incorporate feedback from advisor and committee members into written drafts.
- Demonstrate consistent progress in their research and writing by continuously producing written work.
- Successfully present their dissertation research in a dissertation proposal defense/dissertation defense to a public audience.
