ITEC 7482: Facilitating Online Learning 3 Credit Hours This course addresses expectations, challenges, and issues specific to facilitating online and blended learning environments. Topics include motivating students, creating a sense of community, monitoring progress, providing feedback, differentiating instruction, encouraging interactivity, collaboration and dialogue, and preventing plagiarism and other forms of cheating. Under the supervision of their professor, candidates complete and reflect upon an extended field experience as they implement an online or blended unit of instruction.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
1. Support learning and facilitate engagement with digital pedagogy in online and blended learning environments.
2. Incorporate instructional design principles and best practices when designing and facilitating online and blended learning environments.
3. Design and implement a variety of assessments and provides high-quality feedback in online learning and blended learning environments.
4. Engage in data analysis and reflection to increase student learning in online and blended learning environments and enhance professional growth.
5. Model, guide, and encourage legal, ethical, and safe behavior in online and blended learning environments.
