CPE 4820: Senior Design Project II

2 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: CPE 4810  and Engineering Standing.
This course requires a design team to complete the computer engineering project they proposed in the senior project proposal course. The steps to completing this project include building a prototype of the system/device, programming this system/device, and testing this system/device. The design team is also be responsible for drafting the project report, demonstrating that the system/device functions according to specifications, and making an oral presentation of the project.


Course Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate ability to research technology, design, and integration into working prototype.
  2. Fabricate prototype using “alpha” level materials and constructions.
  3. Learn real-world product development process and rapid prototype methodologies.
  4. Demonstrate ability to complete tasks on project plan.
  5. Function collaboratively and responsibly as a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Engage effectively in both formal and informal oral and written professional communication exercises.
