ANIM 3720: Digital 3D Sculpting I

3 Credit Hours


Prerequisite: ANIM 2750 
This course introduces the student to industry standard 3D sculpting software. Practical application of the software will include modeling characters and prop-based objects for games and animation.


Course Learning Outcomes
This course will introduce students to 3D sculpting using industry-standard software   

  1. Basics of 3D Sculpting - 3D sculpting terminology and software interface 

  2. Block Out Modeling - Blocking out a character model and prop model 

  3. Refinement - Refining a blocked-out character model and prop model 

  4. Retopology - Retopology for final refined models 

  5. Polypaint, Lighting, Rendering - Presentation of all semester projects
