PSYC 3365: Psychology of Human Sexuality 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: PSYC 1101 and any one PSYC 3000-level course This course is an introduction to the scientific study of human sexuality. The course focuses on the psychological, biological, interpersonal, social-cultural aspects of human sexuality and how these intersecting categories influence how human sexuality is understood and experienced. Emphasis will be given to current empirical findings/research and comprehensive sexual education.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Identify and critique research methods associated with this field of study and apply that knowledge to evaluate sources of information about sexuality
- Discuss major historical research studies regarding human sexuality.
- Define key terms and concepts in the study of human sexuality
- Label and define human sexual anatomy and physiology and discuss the psychological role in sexual arousal and functioning.
