FREN 4434: Topics in Language, Literature, and Culture

3 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: FREN 2002  
This course explores a period, movement or genre in literature, a topic in culture, or language related issues. Topics are chosen for their significance and impact on French and Francophone cultures. Students engage in cross-cultural comparisons and develop skills in interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication.


Notes: This course will be conducted in French.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 

  1. Examine authentic materials in French cultural contexts.
  2. Analyze cultural products, practices, and perspectives in cross-cultural comparisons.
  3. Communicate effectively and appropriately in presentational, interpersonal, and interpretive modes.
  4. Develop collaboration and communication skills via team-based tasks and projects.
