CETL - 103 College and University Teaching Workshop Series  The ‘College and University Teaching Workshop Series’ confirms learners have completed the sixteen hour-long teaching and learning workshops introducing research-based pedagogies and practices for teaching in higher education. The interactive presentations include scholarly readings, activities, and reflections adapted from the one-credit hour GRAD 9001 College and University Teaching course delivered f2f over two full days for the Coles College Ph.D. program. This workshop series introduces graduate students to scholarly pedagogies and practices in higher education. Topics include but are not limited to understanding how students learn, creating active learning environments, using formative and summative assessments, creating a teaching philosophy, and more. Participants engage in discussion, small group activities, design of assessment tools, drafting a teaching philosophy, peer review, and reflection related to teaching in higher education. Earning Criteria: To earn this micro-credential, learners must:
- Attend and engage with eight interactive teaching and learning workshops that include activities in which participants practice evidence-based, pedagogical and practical skills applicable to a higher education classroom.
