CSM - 302 HAZWOPERHAZWOPER stands for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response.
HAZWOPER represents a set of guidelines that are produced and maintained by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA regulates hazardous waste operations and emergency services in the U.S. and its territories. HAZWOPER training assist workers in the safe and proper handling, storage, transportation, cleanup, disposal and other responsibilities of working with hazardous materials.
Hazardous waste can take the form of gas, liquid, or solid. These materials have properties that are potentially dangerous or harmful to people or the environment. Hazardous waste can be generated by many different sources including trash disposal sites, mining sites, laboratories, mineral processing sites, agricultural facilities and more.
This micro-credential is designed for students and current employees who are expected to be working with or around hazardous materials. Earning Criteria: Learners demonstrate HAZWOPER guidelines by participating in activities, field exercises, and completing a 25 question industry-standard exam. There will be co-instructors as well as the grantor during the site simulations to check off the participants have satisfactorily completed the field exercises in the use of PPE, Hazmat suits, and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and score 70% or higher on the exam.
