WRIT 3000 - Introduction to Creative Writing Genres3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGL 2110. WRIT 3000 is a multi-genre creative writing survey incorporating the study of three genres from the following list: short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, playwriting, and screenplay writing. Pairing creativity with technique, this content-based course introduces students to concepts, approaches, and methods. As students develop a portfolio of work, they learn to contextualize their own writing with writings from celebrated authors by completing short critical commentaries. This course introduces students to the workshop format.
