ES 2500 - Principles of Nutrition3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: 2.75 AGPA, Exercise Science or Sport Management major, or permission of the department chair. This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principle of nutrition as needed for general health. Topics include the role of diet inthe development and prevention of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.; macro- and micro-nutrient needs for optimum health; U.S. dietary guidelines (and international equivalents); tools to assist with menu planning; and dietary analysis.
