Program Description

The Music and Entertainment Business minor offers three capstone courses in music & entertainment business as well as marketing, management, production, communication, and entrepreneurship courses that prepare students for successful careers in the entertainment industry. The MEBUS Program is for students with a desire to work in the entertainment industry in areas such as film and television production, audio and video technology, venue and artist management, and concert and event production.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to: 

  1. Recall key industry terms, concepts, and historical developments as related to music, film, television, and live events.
  2. Describe the fundamental principles and tools used in content creation.
  3. Develop integrated marketing campaigns.
  4. Research, organize, and create a structured presentation, as well as deliver it while exhibiting effective public speaking techniques.
  5. Collaborate effectively within a team or group.

Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria

Admissions Criteria

Admission to this program is open to all undergraduate students who meet Kennesaw State University’s general admission standards. In addition to this, students must submit a completed MEBUS Program application at www.kennesaw.edu/mebus and meet the listed criteria (credit standing of at least a Sophomore, a minimum GPA of 2.8). Visit the Admissions  section of the Catalog for more details.

Enrollment Criteria

This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .

Graduation Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
