Program Description

Acquire valuable skills necessary to be a technology leader in tomorrow’s global business environment. The Coles College MBA-MSTML brings business strategy to technology projects and technological innovation to business challenges. By blending best business practices and strategic technology skills, students acquire the knowledge necessary to become qualified and capable leaders for cutting-edge global organizations.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Because the MBA-MSTML dual degree will offers two diplomas - the MSTML and the MBA separately, the students in the dual program must meet the PSLOs of both MBA and MSTML degrees. 

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

MBA

  1. Evaluate relationships among value chain components and design value chains to increase overall value. 
  2. Assess the financial status of a company and effectively communicate a summary opinion. 
  3. Choose a profit maximizing level of inputs by balancing marginal revenues and marginal costs. 
  4. Analyze a company’s internal and external environments and formulate appropriate plans. 
  5. Analyze, interpret, and communicate business data using descriptive or inferential statistics. 
  6. Evaluate resource allocation, marketing, or production or service management decision using an appropriate quantitative tool. 
  7. In a global business context, analyze information, identify threats and opportunities and formulate appropriate organizational responses. 
  8. Effectively influence group members’ behaviors towards the accomplishment of a goal(s). 
  9. Analyze business situations and recommend leadership skills and competencies most likely to be effective 
  10. Compare and contrast ethical issues of a business problem and choose an ethical solution.
  11. Exhibit professional communication skills, balancing content and style components, in written and/or oral presentations.

MSTML

  1. Integrated Analysis & Application:
    Use an integrated approach to evaluate potential technology solutions to organizational problems.
  2. Technology Management and Leadership:
    Interpret, lead, and manage technology initiatives.
  3. Communication Skills:
    Integrate technical data, trends, and charts in effective business communication.

 Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria

Admissions Criteria

To be admitted into the dual degree program, the applicant must specify the option at the time of application to the Graduate School. Students interested in applying for the MBA/MSTML dual degree program should consult with the program coordinators with regard to admission requirements and required courses. The following are program-specific requirements beyond the general Graduate Admissions  requirements. To be considered for admission to this program, the following application materials must be submitted to the KSU Graduate Admissions Office:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited in a manner accepted by Kennesaw State University;
  • Academic background (approved by MBA and MSTML program directors);
  • Acceptable scores (by MBA and MSTML program directors, if required) on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  • Three letters of recommendation (optional);
  • Professional experience (Note: Personal interviews will be conducted whenever possible and responsible work, community service, and leadership experience will be considered).

Admissions Requirements for Unique Cases

Currently, there are no exceptions to the admission requirements.

Transfer Credit

No credit from outside institutions is accepted for this degree program.

Enrollment Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .

Graduation Criteria

Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
