Program Description
The 9-hour GaPSC-approved Coaching Certificate is designed for experienced educators. Instruction will involve the use of a variety of instructional methods including, but not limited to, problem-based learning, modules, case-studies, simulation, field experiences, research, and individual projects. Application of learning to school-based issues and problems is a critical component of this applied program.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Analyze the alignment between the organization’s mission, vision, beliefs, and goals and the coachee’s responsibilities and performances required; analyze strengths and opportunities for growth for the coachee based on this alignment.
- Identify and implement appropriate assessments based on the coachee’s roles and responsibilities; analyze and use results from assessments.
- Develop goals and a plan to achieve them in collaboration with coachee; demonstrate ability to manage progress and accountability.
- Provide feedback based on performance criteria; use feedback to collaborate with the coachee to plan strategies.
- Utilize effective verbal skills; use effective written skills; and use effective non-verbal skills to communicate independently of spoken or written words.
- Establish and maintain a highly confidential relationship; recognize and address the significance of relationship building skills, maintain a professional ethical environment; and demonstrate collaboration skills.

This program is accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).

Admissions, Enrollment, and Graduation Criteria
Admissions Criteria
The following are program-specific criteria beyond the general Graduate Admissions requirements.
- Coaching Endorsement School/District Recommendation Form.
- Clear Renewable Georgia Teaching Certificate.
Enrollment Criteria
This program does not have specific enrollment criteria; however, students are expected to meet the requirements of Academic Policy 4.0 ACADEMIC STANDING, DISMISSAL, & REINSTATEMENT .
Graduation Criteria
Each student is expected to meet the requirements outlined in Academic Policy 5.0 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & GRADUATION .
Students must finish all coursework, apply for graduation, and follow the Bagwell College of Education certification steps with GaPSC to add the Endorsement to their Teaching Certificate.
