Program Description

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Geography provides students with an understanding of various aspects of the Earth, including its physical features, the role of humans in modifying the Earth, and the relationships between peoples and places.

This program is a part of the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences .

General Education Core Curriculum (Areas A-E) (42 Credit Hours)

General Education Core Curriculum Requirements Specific to This Major:


Area D1: STAT 1401 (recommended)  Area D2: GEOG 1112  or GEOG 1113 (recommended) It is required that Geography majors complete GEOG 1112 or GEOG 1113 with a grade of “C “or higher.

Choose two courses from Group A listed below for a total of six credit hours. Choose two courses from Group B listed below for a total of six credit hours. Choose one course from Group C listed below for a total of three credit hours. Choose three courses from Groups A, B, C, or D listed below for a minimum of nine credit hours. 

Upper-Division Electives (15 Credit Hours)


Any 3000-4000 level courses from the university curriculum. 

Free Electives (14 Credit Hours)


Any courses in the university curriculum.
