Bachelor of Applied Science with a Major in Information Technology Degree

The Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in Information Technology is designed for students who have an Associate of Applied Science in computing from a member institution of the Technical College System of Georgia. The courses that you have completed for your AAS will transfer as a block, and you will be required to take an additional 67 credit hours (or approximately 2.5 years of full-time study) to obtain the BAS degree.
Students must earn an A.A.S in a computing field with a GPA of 2.3 or better from a TCSG college to transfer into the BASIT program.

General Education Core Curriculum Requirements Specific to This Major:
Area A2: (MATH 1111 and MATH 1112 ) or MATH 1113 Area D1: STAT 1401 Area D2: Any 2 lab based science courses for a total of 8 Credit Hours. The Science courses do not have to be sequential totaling 8 credit hours. SCI 1102 is not permitted. Lower Division Major Requirements (Area F) (18 Credit Hours)
Technical Block (21 Credit Hours)
The Technical Block requires: 21 hours of CIS/CIST courses from the student’s A.A.S. degree. Major Requirements (35 Credit Hours)
Directed Electives (4 Credit Hours)
SWE 4324 or any 3000 or 4000 level IT course not used in the Upper Division Major Requirements. Program Total (121 Credit Hours)
Note:
All IT, CS, CSE AND SWE designator courses must have a grade of “C” or better. |
