PSYC 4400: Directed Study in Psychology 1-3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: Approval of the instructor, and approval of the department chair, and minimum GPA of 3.00. Description: This course is offered to students interested in investigating topics in psychology external to regular course offerings. Under the guidance of a faculty member, students will engage in the study of a specific psychological subject, examining relevant theories, research, and applications. The course fosters critical thinking, independent learning, and intellectual exploration, with topics tailored to the student’s academic interests and the faculty advisor’s expertise.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Identify and describe key theories, models, and research findings related to the selected topic.
- Analyze, synthesize, and critically assess existing literature and concepts within the chosen area of study.
- Independently collect, review, and integrate diverse academic resources to build a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
- Present the key findings and insights from the study in a clear, organized, and scholarly manner.
