LATN 1002: Elementary Latin II 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: LATN 1001 , or by placement, or the equivalent Description: Continued study of Latin grammar and syntax begun in LATN 1001, with further reading and translation.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Identify and describe characteristics of the target language system and show proficiency by communicating in the target language in written and/or oral form.
- Identify the value and role of literary and cultural texts and use them to interpret and reflect upon the perspectives of the target cultures over time.
- Gather, evaluate, synthesize, and present cultural information.
- Analyze and interpret the meaning, cultural significance, and ethical implications of literary and non-literary texts.
- Enhance their intercultural competence by examining how ancient Roman people engaged with everyday life and comparing these practices to modern-day counterparts.
