ACCT 3300: Accounting Information Systems 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: Minimum GPA of 2.0 and (admission to the Coles College Undergraduate Professional Program or student in a Coles College Partner Program that includes this course). Concurrent: ACCT 3100 Description: A continuation of accounting transaction processing concepts; internal controls and systems analysis and design.
Course Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of appropriate accounting controls, and their importance in the ability to provide useful information to users in the decision-making process.
- Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and application of relevant technologies used in accounting processes.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze and evaluate decision alternatives and compare and contrast them to reach a defensible solution (i.e., critical thinking skills)
- Demonstrate the effective use of technology in the course of preparing and disseminating decision-useful accounting information.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate useful accounting information to stakeholders in a written, oral, graphic, an/or interpersonal format that can influence decision-making.
- Demonstrate professional collaboration in a team or group environment.
