IT 1103: Introduction to Information Technology

This course introduces information technology (IT) as a major computing discipline and profession. The course covers fundamental IT concepts, processes, systems, and basic components including computer system, software, networking, cybersecurity, and data. Students will also have a general knowledge of IT profession and career.

Compare IT to related computing fields/disciplines and other related disciplines.
Explain major components of IT infrastructure and major knowledge areas.
