HESA 7500: Legal Issues and Ethics for Higher Education and Student Affairs Administrators 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to the Educational Leadership, M.Ed. This course is designed to provide higher education and student affairs (HESA) administrators with an informed paradigm for ethical and legal decision-making. Various codes of ethics and case studies will be analyzed and applied to specific situations in HESA. Students will engage in critical dialogue, research, and reflection to develop a personal code of ethics. Through deliberate exploration, HESA administrators will examine legal and ethical issues that are predominant in various higher education contexts and research best practices to incorporate into their own leadership practice. Deploying legal research and methodologies, this course will provide HESA administrators with the tools needed to tackle pressing legal and ethical issues in their higher education contexts.
