SWE 5063: Foundations of Database and Web Development Technologies 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: CS 5000 This course gives an introduction to the essential instruments that students need to know to assemble working web applications. It first introduces the main concepts of databases and related application technologies that have come to be critical in the enablement of web-based applications. This course will also examine how to connect the web to the backend database server using the popular scripting languages such as PHP and Python. In particular, students will learn the structure and concepts of the web-driven development, make dynamic web applications utilizing a blend of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, through well-known web frameworks (e.g. NodeJS, Django) and database utilities.
