LING 3025: Linguistics for Education 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: ENGL 1102 Because language study is a key component of the English/Language Arts classroom, this course focuses on specific linguistic aspects of the English language (e.g., morphology, stylistics, discourse, etc.), grammar in context, language variation in life and literature, and sociolinguistic implications of teaching English. There is a strong focus on methodology, such as examining pedagogical stances and creating lesson plans.
