ARH 3850: Art Since 1900 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: Art majors: ARH 2850 and ENGL 1102 . Non art majors: ENGL 1102 and permission of the instructor. This is a lecture/discussion course in which students study major developments and trends in visual arts since 1900. Students become familiar with the dominant artistic practices and critical theories that defined “modernism,” and with the social, political, and cultural changes that initiated the shift in visual art from modernism to post-modernism.
