SCED 7723:Literacy Practices in Science Education3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to graduate education programs This course will examine current theory and practices for promoting the use of literacy skills in science teaching and learning, including reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course will cover topics such as reading and writing to learn science, the role of language in learning from scientific inquiry, and the use of argumentation to promote science conceptual understandings.
