POLS 3340:Legal Analysis3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: POLS 3300 This course involves students in the processes of reasoning objectively and arguing persuasively within a socio-legal framework. Set against a background of formal and informal logic that guides reasoning in general, the course is primarily concerned with the reasoning underlying the construction of legal arguments from judicial, legislative, and scholarly points of view. Theoretical analysis is illustrated by investigating and writing about the law, with an emphasis on topics related to crime.
