HS 3100:Poverty and Culture3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: HS 2300 and (HS major or HS Interest or Non-major with permission of department) This required course will provide an overview of poverty in the US, its causes, efforts to alleviate it, and its reflection in and by culture. Students will examine theories of the causes of poverty, insights into personal experiences of poor people, and critical thinking activities relative to this social issue.
