ECE 4401 - Teaching Mathematics in Early Childhood Education

2 Class Hours 5 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: EDUC 3302 and MATH 3317.Corequisite: HPS 3670.
Study of integrating mathematics concepts, principles and processes into the teaching of mathematics in preschool through fifth grade. Emphasis will be placed upon developmentally appropriate practices in planning, implementing and evaluating instruction in the mathematics curriculum. Includes an extensive field experience as well as media use. Verification of professional liability insurance is required prior to placement in the field experience.
