SOCM - 301 Digital Storytelling with Adobe Premiere RushThe Digital Storytelling Badge could be earned by any KSU student who participates in the university’s annual Adobe Creative Jam competition, which introduces students to multimedia content production using Adobe Premiere Rush software. The Jam offers students a real-world, hands-on opportunity to create digital content addressing a common challenge; engage in storytelling practices to present their unique voice and perspective in creative video production; and integrate best practices of audio, text/graphic overlay, and edited video content into a single, effective storytelling product.
By participating, students demonstrate mastery of digital storytelling and video editing skills, as well as Adobe Premiere Rush. Earning Criteria: To earn the Digital Storytelling with Adobe Premiere Rush Level II Badge, the student must complete the following: (1) Register to participate in the Jam using his/her KSU NetID. (2) Participate in the Jam by attending either the virtual or in-person kick-off event. During the kick-off event, students will learn career-ready, industry-relevant video editing and production skills from an Adobe expert. (3) He/she will then have two full weeks to create a unique video that demonstrates mastery of those skills as displayed in a video artifact. (4) Submit his/her completed final video artifact to a One Drive folder where it will be evaluated by the lead issuer using a rubric created by a team of SOCM professors.
