OELID - 101 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Foundations  The ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Foundations’ micro-credential represents a commitment to and functional understanding of DEI. Through participation in workshops events, and reflection, students will be able to: define DEI- and cultural-competency-related term and concepts; apply understanding of definitions through engaging activities and conversations; analyze ways personal identity can impact responses to cultural ideologies and how culture can shape beliefs, practices, and values; and articulate ways to promote inclusive environments and communicate in diverse settings.
Earning Criteria: To earn this micro-credential, learners must:
- Attend the DEI Basics Workshop and pass the DEI Basics quiz with 80%.
- Attend the Cultural Competence Workshop and pass the Cultural Competence Quiz with 80%.
- Submit a 1-page reflection and earn 12 points on the reflection rubric. Reflection should include the following:
a. What key concepts stood out to you during the workshops?
b. How have your perspectives or understandings of DEI evolved or changed?
c. What tools or strategies discussed resonated with you and how do you envision applying them to your current role or responsibilities?
d. Consider your future endeavors and career aspirations, how do you anticipate integrating the knowledge and skills gained?
To earn this badge, each of these tasks must be completed within one academic year. Skill(s):
