LING 3020:Linguistics and Literature3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: One of the following courses: ENGL 2110 , ENGL 2111 , ENGL 2112 , ENGL 2120 , ENGL 2121 , ENGL 2122 , ENGL 2130 , ENGL 2131 , ENGL 2132 , or ENGL 2300 . This course surveys intersections between linguistics and literary studies. It introduces students to one or more of the major linguistic theories and methodologies that can inform literary analysis, such as semiotics, poetics, pragmatics, narrative theory, structuralism, post-structuralism, (neo-)formalism, discourse analysis, or stylistics.
