CET 3220:Applied Structural Steel Design3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: CET 3210 An in-depth study of techniques used in structural design. Determination of structural loads and the analysis and design of structural steel elements used in buildings and related structures. Current design procedures for steel joists, beams, girders, columns, base plates, and connections are applied. American Institute of Steel Construction Steel Design Manual and the Steel Joist Institute’s joist manual specifications are used.
