ECE 4515:Methods in Teaching and the Development of Teaching Language & Literacy in Birth through Kindergarten3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education program. Corequisite: ECE 4545 This course is designed to deepen the study of language development in typically and atypically developing children from infancy though five years. Candidates learn ages and stages of literacy development, family and cultural influences, and the importance of a language and literacy-rich environment. Candidates also learn methods and strategies for teaching pre-reading and reading to very young children.
