ME 6270:Advanced Fluid Mechanics and Computational Fluid Dynamics3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGR 6120 This course provides principal concepts and methods of fluid dynamics. Mass conservation, momentum and energy equations for continua, Navier-Stokes equation for viscous flows, dimensional analysis, the Reynolds averaged equations, and turbulence models are introduced. The course includes basics of finite difference and finite volume methods, boundary conditions, and grid generation. Practical algorithms and computer exercises are provided for incompressible flows. Compressible flows are introduced.
